The department of Information Technology was established in the year 1999 with the motto of producing competent IT professionals to cater to the needs of the IT revolution. The department offers a 4 year B.Tech. Programme in Information Technology with the inclusion of a well designed curriculum and value added courses that develop IT professionals. The department is endowed with qualified and experienced faculty and state-of- the- art laboratories. The department strives to produce competent technocrats and entrepreneurs with ethical values.

Established the IBM Centre of Excellence Laboratory in the academic year 2010-11
A faculty member received Best Paper Award in the IEEE International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Computing Research in 2010
The laboratories are refurbished and equipped with high speed processors with Internet access through a 10 Mbps leased line
One of the faculty members delivered a presentation on Teaching Methodologies in Wipro Mission 10X Annual Meet in 2009
