The Civil Engineering Department was established in the year 2007 offering B.E. Civil Engineering program. Presently the department is headed by Dr.R.Kumutha who has more than a decade of teaching & research experience. The department has qualified faculty with varied experience in the areas of Structural Engineering, Irrigation Water Management, Environmental Engineering, Geo Technical Engineering, Geology, Remote Sensing etc. The department is well equipped with full-fledged laboratories.

Graduates of Civil Engineering programme will:

  Have a strong technical foundation to earn professional licensure, certifications, advanced degrees in their chosen profession, and career advancements
Deal with real life civil engineering problems and achieve practical solutions based on a sound knowledge of science and engineering
Be competent and engaged engineering professionals, applying their technical skills in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the built environment and global infrastructure, and utilizing their skills to analyze and design systems,  performing cost estimates and analyses, and managing technical activities in support of civil engineering projects
Be prepared for modern professional practice, including abilities for effective communication, collaborative work in diverse teams, ethical decision-making, and resource-management skills as leaders in the civil engineering profession
Develop and update their knowledge and skills through professional programs and graduate studies to keep up with the rapidly evolving technologies
